systematic and consistent processes
The 9001 Standard presents its well known and highly respected model for a quality management system.
The Standard consists of a set of 'requirements': things that you must have or do.
Requirements are set out in 4 main categories:
- Management responsibility
- Resource management
- Services or products
- Measurement, analysis and checking.
ISO 9001 says what an organisation must do, but it doesn't specify how. That means it doesn't tell any organisation how it must do things such as planning, or identifying and controlling its processes, nor dictate any specific formats.
